Bedside, mount 30-36in above the mattress top; in hallways, 60-72in from the floor and every 6-8ft; flanking a mirror at face height; or beside a fireplace at standing eye level. Pairs should sit at matching heights.

Above a mirror, mount the fixture about 75-80in from the floor, with its base roughly 6-8in above the mirror's top. Sconces mounted beside a mirror sit at about 60-65in from the floor — near eye level.

Most connect to an electrical box behind the wall. Some plug-in models have a cord that drops to an outlet, useful for renters who can't add wiring. The product description notes the install type, or message us to confirm a specific sconce.

Many LED wall sconces dim when paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch; older dimmers may flicker or buzz. Check the product description for dimming compatibility, or use a smart bulb in socketed models for dimming without a wired dimmer.

Only models listed as outdoor and rated “damp” or “wet” are safe outside or near a shower. Indoor-only sconces can corrode or short-circuit when exposed to moisture, so look for the rating in the product description or message us first.
