What height bar stool do I need?
Measure your counter or bar from the floor. A 36in counter takes 24-26in counter stools; a 42in bar takes 28-30in bar stools. Leave 10-12in between the seat and the underside of the top.
How many stools fit under my counter?
Allow 24-28in of counter width per stool including elbow room. A 4ft counter fits two comfortably, 6ft fits three, 8ft fits four. Leave about 6in from a corner to the first stool.
With or without a back — which is better?
Backless stools tuck fully under the counter and look minimal — best for occasional use. Backed stools are more comfortable for longer sitting but need more clearance. Swivel models make getting on and off easier.
Are bar stools comfortable for long sitting?

How long does a bar stool take to assemble?
