This model is for indoor use. Outdoor spaces need a damp-rated fan with a sealed motor and weather-resistant blades.

It mounts to a fan-rated ceiling box - if one is already in place, installation is a standard 1-2 hour job. If your current box is a light-only fixture box, have an electrician fit a fan-rated brace first.
