Dining Chairs

Standard 28-30in tables pair with 18-19in seat-height chairs. Counter-height tables (34-36in) need 24-26in stools; bar-height tables (40-42in) need 28-30in stools. Aim for 10-12in between the seat and the table underside.

Upholstered seats are more comfortable for long meals and soften the look; wood or moulded seats are easier to wipe and feel more architectural. Households with children or pets often prefer wipeable surfaces near food.

Match your table's seating — four for a four-seater, six for a six-seater. For flexibility, keep one or two extra for larger gatherings. Mixing four matching plus two accent chairs adds visual interest.

Most need legs attached to the seat, about 10-15 minutes per chair with the hardware that ships with the piece; some arrive fully assembled. Counter and bar stools take a little longer because of the taller base.

Fit felt pads or rubber caps on each leg and replace them yearly as they wear from chair-pulling. On hardwood, a rug under the dining area also absorbs scuffs from chairs sliding in and out.

Vacuum the seat weekly and blot spills immediately — don't rub. Use water-based cleaner for most fabrics and solvent only for delicate ones; when unsure, check the product description or contact us with the product name.
